CITY SEEKERS — PLAYER SAFETY GUIDELINES
Last updated: 22 September 2026
City Seekers turns London into the playing board, but the city continues operating normally around you.
These guidelines form part of the conditions of participation.
Stay aware of your surroundings
Do not allow a clue, message or phone screen to distract you from traffic, cyclists, other pedestrians or hazards around you.
Stop somewhere safe before reading longer messages or discussing puzzles.
Never read or type into your phone while crossing a road.
Follow normal road safety rules
Use appropriate pedestrian crossings.
Obey traffic signals and signs.
Do not enter a road or other dangerous area simply because you believe a clue points in that direction.
No City Seekers puzzle requires you to put yourself in danger.
No running, climbing or risky activity is required
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, City Seekers will never require you to:
- run through traffic or busy pedestrian areas;
- climb buildings, barriers, monuments or structures;
- enter water;
- access rooftops, railway areas or construction sites;
- enter closed or restricted spaces; or
- damage, move or interfere with public or private property.
If you think a clue is asking you to do something unsafe, don't do it.
Reconsider the clue or send SOS.
Public and private property
Remain within areas that members of the public are lawfully permitted to access.
Do not trespass.
You never need to force open a door, gate or barrier to solve a City Seekers puzzle.
Look after your group
Teams should remain aware of one another, particularly when crossing roads or moving through crowded areas.
Adults accompanying children remain responsible for their supervision.
Weather and clothing
Check the weather before playing.
Wear footwear and clothing suitable for several hours of walking around London.
Carry water where appropriate and take breaks whenever you need them.
Accessibility and individual needs
We endeavour to make our routes as accessible as reasonably possible.
However, City Seekers takes place through real public streets and spaces and we cannot guarantee that every part of every route will be fully accessible to every player.
If an unexpected route feature causes difficulty, use SOS and we will try to help.
For accessibility questions before playing, contact:
Emergencies
The City Seekers SOS system provides game and customer support only.
It is not monitored or equipped as an emergency service.
In a genuine emergency, contact the police, ambulance or fire service directly.
Your safety is more important than completing a puzzle.
